Low Testosterone in Victoria, TX

Many men fail to make the link between symptoms such as fatigue, irritability, depression, loss of sex drive, osteoporosis and weight loss, with falling hormone levels. However declining hormone levels, in particular, testosterone is as real a problem for men, as low levels of estrogen and progesterone are for women. One of the ways that we deal with this problem at the Texas Medical & Wellness Clinic is with the help of Bio-Identical Hormone Replacement Therapy (BHRT).

About Testosterone

Testosterone is responsible for a number of physiological and physical functions in the male body and regulates libido, fat distribution, sexual desire, sperm production, bone density, and muscle mass.

In most men, testosterone levels decline naturally after the age of 40, however, there are also health and lifestyle choices that contribute to lower testosterone levels. These include obesity, nutritional deficiency, smoking and excessive drinking of alcohol, as well as some prescription medication.

Low testosterone levels can lead to emotional, sexual, and physical problems. These include irritability, depression, loss of sex drive, infertility, decreased strength and vitality, and fragile bones.

In addition, studies have been carried out which indicate that low testosterone can pose even more dangers to your health. These studies suggest a possible link between low testosterone and the increased risk of death from chronic illnesses such as cancer and cardiovascular disease.

Treating Low Testosterone

It is important that men who are having any of the symptoms associated with low testosterone have their levels checked. Give us a call at the Texas Medical & Wellness Clinic, and we will be able to carry out a comprehensive exam to determine if your problems are due to low testosterone. We also offer Bio-Identical Hormone Replacement Therapy to correct hormonal imbalances.
